Jennie was so kind and patient with me, she answered every question I had. All the staff went above and beyond in every sense. Jaco was really the best tour guide ever, we were lucky enough to have him teach us all sorts of interesting things on the sunset drive, the rock art tour and the star gazing. He had such enthusiasm about everything he said, it was just captivating. We definitely left wiser! As for the food... WOW! Every meal we had was just incredible! We also had the pleasure of the most fantastic bartender and waiter named Nathan, he paid attention to every detail and was just a treat to talk to. The views are unreal and nature is all around you. I can only think of one word to describe Kagga Kamma and that is MAGICAL! We honestly cannot wait to return.”

“A true gem in the middle of nowhere. For the first time in a long time, you can actually believe the pictures on the internet, but actually not completely, as what you find cannot be captured on camera. We arrived at night in the rain and were received heartedly, with our table for dinner ready. The caves that we stayed in were a breath of fresh air after a long journey, with a decanter of sherry awaiting our arrival. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and really makes you feel at home. It's definitely a place that will see us again, and that all South Africans should visit.”

During Easter weekend the chef went all out to treat us with self-made Easter eggs and with every seating the food was divine and served beautifully. In the evenings, we were looking forward to enjoying supper in the boma, sitting around a big fire. Everywhere we go we are spreading the word of our enjoyable stay. “We had the most incredible honeymoon at Kagga Kamma. The clean fresh air, the friendliest staff, and the absolutely delicious food made for a divine stay. Our excursions were fun and informative, Jano and Pieter were both so vibrant and full of life. Management helped me surprise my husband with the Under the Sky experience, going to all lengths to keep it a surprise until we arrived at the open-air room. Susanna is a magician of massages. We even got a breakfast/padkos package packed for us upon request for our 8-hour drive home. We left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and filled with great memories and experiences. We will be back!”

"All I can say is WOW! We had the most amazing long weekend to celebrate Father's Day at Kagga Kamma in one of the three-bedroom Chalets. Service with a smile from Reception at arrival to Restaurant and Bar staff was amazing, super friendly and efficient. Including the cleaning team whom checked on us daily to ensure everything was to satisfaction. Dinner at the Restaurant was prepared and served to perfection: 5-star rating! Beautiful surrounds, encountered so many animals whilst making use of the self-help map of the area. On exploring the easy to follow route, ran into a super helpful and informative Guide who was on a Guided Quad Tour but he still took the time to point out an Aardvark's home next to the road, as well as a red Wildebeest to us and informed us which route to follow to see the most animals at the time Thank you for going above and beyond to make our stay super stunning and the extra effort with the Father's Day gift and entertaining everyone with a Rugby Finals guessing the score at the bar. We'll definitely be back!"

"Never in my wildest dreams had I thought sleeping in a cave would be so magical. The place is spotless, smelt fresh and had warm running water. The welcome note, birthday note and bubbly were such a wonderful surprise. The Restaurant was so warm with very welcoming and friendly, professional staff. The hospitality here was spectacular. First time I flew in a small plane and we were treated like royalty, being picked up from the landing strip and taken on a ride to the Reception and restaurant. (Had an amazing lunch from their delicious menu.) Second visit we drove up for a film shoot by the pool and had lunch again and also got to experience one of their rooms to get dressed in. It is so worth the long drive from Cape Town. Please consider visiting for some unforgettable views!"

If you need restful sleep, this is the place: dead quiet! The starry skies were amazing and the Stargazing Tour was informative. I look at the stars differently now! The accommodation (Chalets) was perfect... excellent linen and well-stocked kitchen. There is only solar for electricity so no load-shedding and they have their own water so all sorted. Definitely recommend Kagga Kamma... I will be back!"

"I spent two nights at Kagga Kamma on the full board package. I travelled with a friend and we both stayed in the Cave Suites. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our Guide, Zahn, was knowledgeable and entertaining on our drives. The room was comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The food was absolutely delicious. The Reserve is exquisite with so many magical, fantastic and strange rock formations that demanded a photo a minute. I highly recommend the 4km walk, following the blue markers. I was blown away by the beautiful scenery. The walk is a bit difficult at times but well worth the effort. I highly recommend Kagga Kamma. Our stay was truly special. What a gem of a place!"

"Amazing must stay nature reserve and resort; blown away by everyone who made our experience unforgettable. The Restaurant meals were great and sitting by the Boma for sunset was a postcard. The 4km and 7km hikes give you an amazing view of the property. The 4km hike has a lot better cave drawings, however is rocky and has a lot of climbing. The 7km route was a lot flatter but does not have the drawings. Quad biking was great! A must do activity and worth doing the two hour route. The open air massage was incredible! Worth booking to see the views and get to feel this taste of heaven. So relaxing. Our eight-person sleeper chalet was perfect. Loved the private Boma and nightly fires in the indoor fireplace. Would want to stay here again!"

He has extensive knowledge of the wildlife and we enjoyed his stories while on the Nature Drives as well as our conversations after the tours and shows. Zahn, our other Nature Guide was just as informative. We enjoyed the Quad Bike Tour and the Stargazing Tour. "We had an incredible weekend camping at Kagga Kamma. The moment we arrived we were greeted by a kind soul at the gate. The spa treatments were unbelievable - I did not expect that level of excellence in such a remote setting. The Nature Drives with Guides Shawn and Ryno were wonderful and informative. "A really, really cool place literally in the middle of nowhere. The 35km gravel road leads you through a fantastic pass with great views and past a lot of really interesting rock formations - you won’t get bored along the way. Once there, the extremely friendly staff is happy to assist you in whatever way needed. The views are just breath-taking and I enjoyed the absolute silence here. Please do yourself a favour and book a Guided Stargazing Tour in the evening - the stars are absolutely amazing; if the moon is not there and the skies are clear. Loved it, will definitely be back!"

"My husband and I eloped to Kagga Kamma and had the most wonderful experience. The place is rugged, yet so beautiful and peaceful. The staff go out of their way to make you feel so special and to make your trip memorable. The food is delicious, the rooms are perfect, the staff are incredible and the guides are knowledgeable and fun! There are various activities to do while you're there, but you can also relax by the pool quite happily. We went in March and it was pretty hot - 33-36 degrees most days, however the rooms are air-conditioned. Kagga Kamma is a unique place and definitely worth a visit."
